About Boca Raton Bat Removal

Welcome to bocaratonbat.com. We are the only qualified bat removal company in Boca Raton, Florida. Hiring a company to carry out animal removal work shouldn't be a gamble, so spending a little time to do your research can be very valuable. We have been helping people in this area to deal with their pest animal issues for over a decade, and you can find many reviews of our company and the service we provide on sites such as Facebook, Google Reviews and Yelp, and several other sites too. If you hire us to carry out the removal of an animal infestation, you can be confident of a professional and efficient service, and our experts specialize in more challenging animal situations such as a bat infestation. Our team is all regularly staying up to date with the latest equipment and best practices, so that they can ensure they're using the right methods when resolving any bat problem. Our approach is safe and efficient, and the thorough examination of the location is key to getting the bats out of the property permanently, as finding all of the access points helps to make removing the bats much more straightforward. Once we know how the bats get in and out, installing exclusion netting will allow the bats to get out of their roost, but will then be the barrier stopping them from getting back in. We also have the equipment to be able to clean and disinfect the attic or loft space where the bats were present, so that you and your family aren't at risk from harm from any particles left behind in the bat guano. Naturally, all of the repairs to seal the attic or loft space are completed to a building quality, so that they will keep bats out for years to come. We operate 24-7-365, so don't hesitate to call us at 561-576-0026 to discuss your bat problem and schedule a fast appointment.

Residential

We are experts at removing bats from residential properties. Whether you have a single bat trapped in your house, a colony roosting in your attic, and/or various other problems, there is no need to worry! During our removal process, we make sure to inspect your entire home carefully, tracking down all the entrypoints bats are using to invade your place. Next, we perform a process called live exclusion (where no bats are harmed and all exit your property), then seal all entry holes completely shut. We also take care of the cleanup process after, so your home is safe and clean!

Commercial

Besides residential areas, we also have a wealth of experience removing bats from commercial properties! We begin by investigating the area for possible bat entrances, covering holes even as small as 1/4 of an inch. Through our live exclusion process, bats leave the building through one-way exits, and we seal up every hole afterward. Once the bats have been removed, we perform a cleanup process. This includes dealing with guano, replacing damaged insulation, and decontaminating the place.

How to Inspect a House for Bat Entry Holes

If there are bats in your house, you need to figure out how they got inside. After all, unless you remove the bats and seal their entry points, more bats can get into your house in the future. This would leave you in a constant cycle of dealing with bats.

Luckily, there are some subtle and not-so-subtle signs that bats leave behind to let you know how they got into your house.

Know What to Look For

Before you start inspecting your home for bat entry holes, make sure you know what you are looking for. Bats can fit through a space that has a diameter of at least 3/8 of an inch. As such, you want to find any gap, hole, or crack that is at least this large.

While you are sealing up those gaps, it makes sense to take care of smaller ones as well. After all, you likely do not want other small wildlife or insects to make their way into your house.

Inspect the Home Starting at the Top

Bats can theoretically enter your home through any gap that is large enough, regardless of where it is. That being said, as flying animals that prefer to roost up high, they are more likely to find an entry point that is higher up. Start by looking by your attic and roofline or by the top of your top floor.

Use Light to Your Advantage

If you do not currently have any bats in your attic but know that you previously did, consider going up to the space during the day. Turn off the lights in the attic and look for where the sunlight shines through. This will show you the holes and therefore any potential entry points.

The caveat with this method is that you do not necessarily want to do it when bats are present. What makes that more challenging is that you are unlikely to exclude all of the bats and keep them out if you don't find all of their entry points.

Look for Grease Stains

Bats have greasy bodies and when they go in and out of your home, some of that grease tends to rub off on the wall around the hole. This means that many bat entry points will have brownish grease around them. If you can spot this grease, you will be on your way to finding an entry point nearby.

Look for Droppings

Another sign that bats unintentionally leave behind is their guano. Keep your eyes peeled for bat droppings on the floor or resting on structures, like roof beams. If you spot droppings, then there is likely an entry hole nearby.

Watch the Bats

One of the most effective ways of finding bat entry points is to just wait until dusk and watch the bats as they leave. There are just a few complications to keep in mind. First of all, you will have to be able to find the spots again in the morning, so you need to take good notes of where they leave from. Second, you will need to enlist some help as you cannot watch the entirety of your home's exterior at once. If you don't have anyone to help you watch for bats, you could also try to set up a bunch of strategically-placed cameras.

The Best Solution – Have a Professional Find Them

The most efficient and accurate way to find bat entry holes is to just hire a professional to do so for you. They will use a combination of the above methods but their experience allows them to spot the signs of bats more quickly.

Most professionals will offer this as one of their services related to bat removal. They may even seal up the entry holes for you after you get rid of the bats.

What to Do with the Entry Holes – Exclusion

Once you have found the entry holes that bats use to get into your house, what do you do? Seal most of them up and install an exclusion device over the remaining one or two. The bats will leave and not be able to get back inside. After a few days, confirm all the bats are gone and seal up those final holes. Then, you will be free to clean the space and make any repairs.
